Trail Difficulty & Recommendations

Easy to moderate: Trails are natural, with dirt, rocks, tree roots, and some steps. There is a gentle incline in some areas. When it rains, paths can get muddy, so closed-toed waterproof shoes are highly recommended. Bring a light jacket, an extra change of clothes, sunblock, insect repellent, sunglasses, a cap, and snacks or energy bars.

This adventure takes you to Bijagua, a charming little town nestled in a valley between two volcanoes—Miravalles and Tenorio. Here, you’ll find a beautiful wildlife sanctuary where sloths and monkeys are often seen relaxing in the treetops. The area is also home to the stunning Rio Celeste waterfall, located inside Tenorio Volcano National Park.
